Overview of the Course to become a Neuro-Developmental Treatment Specialist Year 1
20 class days with an additional 5 days Apprenticeship MODULE 1 - Study of normal child development with particular emphasis on the central nervous system and the development of the reflexes
- Study using specified Book List
- Completion of a specified number of assignments
MODULE 2 - Understanding the standard tests
- How to administer the tests
- Method of scoring the tests and interpreting the findings
MODULE 3 - Practical application of content of Module 2
- Interpreting test scores
- Compiling reports, educational etc.
MODULE 4 - Instruction on devising an Individual Programme for a child
- Practising movements for Home Programme
MODULE 5 - Trainees will be tested on their Knowledge and Professional Practice Competence while presenting and explaining a specified number of case histories in detail.
- This module will include Professional Practice Management and Professional Practice Communications and Media Skills courses.
Year 2
MODULE 6 - Practice under supervision on non fee-paying clients with support from Central Office for a twelve- month period. There are also in-service Update Trainings over the twelve months. This may involve observing a specialist in Practice, group session or one-to-one coaching. Home study will be scheduled during that period.
